What are we building, and how do we build it?

People think Paul was a weirdo.
A fanatic! Unbalanced, he took things too far! So when they read personal advice like 1 Corinthians 2, they just ignore it! That’s just Paul being weird!
Jesus told me, yes, most people do this when they read Paul giving personal advice—they just ignore it because it’s not for ‘normal’ people like them they think—but this where the treasure is hidden!—hidden to people who are blind I suppose! It’s in the Bible, yes, but … It’s the Word of God, yes, but … It’s SCRIPTURE … yes … but …
Actually Paul is not just giving weird personal advice only meant for ‘super apostles’ that the rest of us can just ignore. Paul is telling us personal secrets—keys of the Kingdom the Holy Spirit gave him to explain how to minister. People who read these verses about what Paul thinks, prays and does personally and ignore it lose the benefit of being trained by the Holy Spirit like Paul was trained.
The same Holy Spirit who trained Paul will train us to do the same things in the same ways, if we let him.
Man’s Ways is the Problem
So Paul said in Romans that the Flesh is the enemy of God; it can’t be fixed, cured or saved; it has to be KILLED.
But what is the flesh? Jesus told me the FLESH is:
The human level Intelligence, human level Understanding, human level Perception, human level Desires and human level Motives. It is the mind and heart of a normal man. James called it ‘Earthly Wisdom.’ Paul said this wisdom perishes, it is foolish and Proverbs calls it a prostitute (the false wisdom called the Woman Folly).
The problem is actually we don’t want to do things God’s way. We already know the bible. We know how to run a service. We know how to give a sermon. We know how to collect and spend money. So we run our churches in the ways that make sense to us, preaching the gospel in the way we understand it! But this is all the FLESH!
This is why Jesus told me the church is SICK—sick not with a disease, but with Man’s Ways.
Let’s consider: Power vs Talk
Two of the biggest areas where this matters is explained in 1 Corinthians 2 mostly. But let’s look first in Chapter 1 as Paul begins in v14 by saying:
14I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15so that no one may say that you were baptized in my name. 16(I did baptize also the household of Stephanas. Beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized anyone else.) 17For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
You can now distinguish preaching the Gospel (of the Kingdom) and focusing on ministering water baptism? Paul distinguished these things saying this was what Jesus told him to do—and what not to do. But can you imagine ministering in a way that Takes The Power Away from Christ’s Sacrifice?! How is this possible? It is! People do it! He continues explaining more in 1 Corinthians 2:1-16:
1When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. 2For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. 4My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power.

6We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7No, we speak of God’s secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. 8None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him”—10but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.
13This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.

14The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man’s judgment: 16“For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
OK, so this gives us at least TWO clear directives:
1. We must do more than just talk ABOUT the gospel—we need to minister in a Demonstration of the Spirit and Power of God if we want to spread God’s Kingdom within people. Otherwise we will only produce converts who are loyal to ideas, have a pride in Man’s wisdom, and embrace ‘words’ instead of the unimaginable, always surprising, reality of God. We will have robbed the cross of its power!
2. God’s Spirit Teaches us His Mysteries—THIS is what we must teach! Eye has not seen, ear has not heard what God has prepared for us, His saints … but He reveals these things to us by His Spirit, … and THIS is what we must teach! Everyone teaches, but when we do we must teach Heaven’s wisdom, not Man’s opinion, doctrines or thoughts from the Flesh. Otherwise we are not building his Heavenly Kingdom, we’re just doing Man’s church!
And if you are ready there’s a third gem here: the Mind of Christ. When the Lord revealed the reality of this it was nothing like anything I’ve ever imagined, it is so powerful! I am including it later in the section on The Mind of Christ.
For now we need to focus on these two topics: Demonstrate the Spirit and Teach Revelation. OK?
Come in Power—or better just stay home!
Since the gospel of the Kingdom is the real experience of God, the ministries that advance it must likewise demonstrate the reality of God in spirit and in truth, in power over word, to advance it in reality not just doctrinally—we must be DOERS of the word essentially. And this cannot be done without supernatural power.
Consider what Paul said about ministering the Gospel:
1 Thessalonians 1:5, “for our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake.” (NASB)
This sound very much like 1 Corinthians 2, doesn’t it!? I also like the argument Paul had with the people who were trying to out-do him, but were ministering without the Holy Spirit backing them up, I Corinthians 4:1-20!
19 But I will come to you very soon, if the Lord is willing, and then I will find out not only how these arrogant people are talking, but what power they have. 20 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.
We quote this often AND WE NEED TO! But don’t forget the context! He’s dealing with normal day-to-day ministry! Not special events for superstars! I’ll say it again:
1 Corinthians 4:20, “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.”
Does this mean the bar is set too high for us mere mortals to do anything to advance the Kingdom on our own? Are we prevented from being able to minister the gospel if we don’t walk in power?
The simple answer is: Yes!
But to enable us to co-labor with God to advance His Kingdom in power is the whole point the Holy Spirit was given to be with us at Pentecost! The Spirit was literally poured out on ALL FLESH—not just Cohen priests or certain gifted people! People from ALL races and backgrounds were filled with the Holy Spirit that day on Pentecost, first the 12 and then thousands more from many countries! Why? This is to show that you—yes, YOU also qualify; you too can walk in Power. Like Peter said, this promise is for you and your children and all those far off! According to Paul, this specifically means gentiles, non-ethnically Jewish people; did you know that?
So, the answer is also No, the bar is not set too high for us mere mortals. What is special is not us because of race, heritage or bloodline; what is special is God IN us, specifically the Holy Spirit baptism.
So yes, the gospel of the Kingdom is beyond what people can merely talk about. It is not a doctrine but an experience of God we can only help advance if God is WITH us, IN us, in Spirit, in truth, in reality.
But it is impossible for us to do miracles on our own!
Yes, but it was also impossible for Jesus to do miracles on his own either! He set aside his divinity to walk as a man, but a man who was in communion, or active fellowship with the Father. Jesus could only do what he saw the Father doing, (he had ‘vision’ in a higher realm than merely physical vision) and he had to act through the power of the Holy Spirit (which is why he was baptized in the Holy Spirit through John the Baptist, given a source of power beyond the realm of men humanity), and also he lived in submission to the Father’s will (which is why his power ministry didn’t emerge until after he completed his wilderness experience), but that’s another topic.
So no, we also can’t do miracles on our own. But we have been given the same Holy Spirit to dwell in us to empower us—yes, little old us!—to carry on His ministry, in his name … if only we mature and walk in right daily fellowship with the Father as Jesus did.
It is impossible for us to advance the Kingdom on our own—but with God all things are possible. And that is where we must minister from if we want to build Christ’s spiritual kingdom, from a place of cooperation with the Holy Spirit, in submission to the Father’s will. It is actually very simple. But yes it is required, there is no substitute or work-around to replace the Holy Spirit’s presence or ministry in building God’s Kingdom in people’s hearts.
Are we called to be Goat Herders?
But if you choose to minister without demonstrating the Holy Spirit’s power, but instead minister ‘in word only’ it can be very dangerous to the lives of the people you minister to.
Paul says because if you minister ‘in word only’ you will produce converts who only have faith in words: ideas, doctrines, theology, denominations, and not people who have faith in God’s present reality or power, and not people able to enter the Kingdom. Why he was careful to minister in a demonstration of God’s Spirit and Power …
1 Corinthians 2:5
… 5”so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power.”
This means if you minster ‘in word only’ people’s faith will tend to rest only in having knowledge—not in personally ‘knowing’ Jesus; In being hearers only—not being DOERS, which don’t forget REQUIRES us to cast out demons, heal the sick and love people we are naturally incapable of loving! We need to love the unlovable which certainly requires supernatural grace!
Moreover, he said this will cause the Cross to lose its power. The Cross? This is the place where we EXCHANGE what we can do, what we have done … with what Jesus can do, with what Jesus has done. We were poor, he makes us rich. We were weak, he makes us strong. How? By literally pouring out his Spirit into us, filling us with the empowerment of his grace, which we usually call the anointing, enabling us to do what previously only he could. The cross is where we lay down our Human Lives and let him live his Divine Life through us. Exchanging faith in ourselves and what we can do for faith in Him and what he can do.
Developing people who have faith in Man‘s Wisdom and who do not have faith in God’s power will create goat-like, unloving, unwise converts who only adhere to pet doctrines, thoughts, ideas, habits or buildings—and so they will often just ignore the need to Practice God’s Presence, or Experience God’s Intimacy and will never get around to actually Loving the Unlovable. This is a problem alright!
It seems obvious! Why all the Controversy?
Let’s just keep the Gospel divine and supernatural, keep the bible miraculous, keep God present and accounted for, and all will be well with our souls. So truly, much if not most of the criticism of the Holy Spirit comes from people whose hearts are darkened and carnal who defiantly reject the reality of God no matter how well presented He is, as we just read in 1 Corinthians 2:14,
14The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
He does not say they aren’t ‘bible believers’—the Pharisees believed in the Scriptures, but they were also covered in yeast! He doesn’t say it’s people who don’t believe in God. The Sadducees did, and did so very poorly denying any supernatural reality whatsoever. Sad, really. So these groups do have some biblical beliefs, they are just carnal in the way they handle them. We assume they are ‘un-reached’ but it actually may be God’s judgment:
John 12:40 “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, lest they see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and turn, and I would heal them.”
Zeal … without WISDOM is … not good!
But other times the ministry of the Holy Spirit is discredited because people have ministered in ways that have been sensationalist or abrasive. We need to mature to be able to minister in the Holy Spirit without mixing it with carnal ways. We need zeal, but with WISDOM! We have to learn how to minister peacefully and calmly, although I admit it is not always easy or possible!
People do cry when being healed by the Holy Spirit, sure … but once healed a peace should soon permeate the atmosphere, and crying and disturbances should cease. If people CRY EVERY TIME they feel the Holy Spirit, it’s usually something else going on.
And yes, demons do manifest, and make commotion. This even happened to Jesus! And mostly they do it try to scare people and interrupt deep ministry. You don’t need to let demons manifest AT ALL! You should be in the habit of binding ALL demonic manifestations and make them SHUT UP and BE QUIET as soon as they start making noise to avoid any demon putting on a ‘freak show’ because all they want to do is disrupt the flow of ministry!
Ministry can be peaceful, calm and yet still very effective. This is an important ministry approach: not control, not preventing the Spirit from flowing, but teaching people to always guide things towards peace and order because it is the atmosphere that is most conducive to extended times of ministry—this is especially important as you begin incorporating group ministry into regular services with regular people even strangers who bring all kinds of problems with them! I know it may seem daunting, but it is not really. In fact, many of us are already walking in power and don’t even realize it.
Ceremony is USELESS—Try to Avoid it!
Also, people who are blind to the Unseen often focus on spiritual as symbolic, promises are merely metaphors, or they say, “the Scriptures are just nice things to say … but none of it is real!”
This is what Paul is talking about in Colossians 2:16-23:
16Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.
17These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. …
23Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.
What HAS value? The GRACE (Charis) of God, the Anointing! Moses brought the Law, the Symbolic, but Jesus brought Grace and Truth—the reality (John 1:17).
Also in Hebrews God even foresaw our arguments on the real nature of communion ceremonial elements, saying:
Hebrews 13:9 Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by ceremonial foods, which are of no value to those who eat them.
The Religious Spirit is a Trap, a Counterfeit
What is behind this is a demon actually that we often refer to as the religious spirit. This is a demon in church that pretends to be the Holy Spirit—but is a Counterfeit. You have to WATCH because it always knows what the Holy Spirit is doing and makes a counterfeit; watch for the counterfeit Jesus told me! Also, the fruit of this fake is spiritual DEATH. This makes people unable to flow in the real Holy Spirit, whereas Jesus and those being transformed to be like him flow in the Spirit like a kite in the wind, or a sail boat in a breeze. Spiritual indifference, being un-moved by the Holy Spirit, especially resisting and opposing the Holy Spirit is indicative of spiritual death. Finally it makes people feel TRAPPED, even if they are too proud to admit it—they even know it themselves that they are trapped! Unable to feel joy, find peace, find health … but they can’t break themselves free! The religious spirit is a trap to those who fall prey to it’s deception. These three things: “Watch, Death, Trap” Jesus told me!
‘Knowledge’ is Good … but Limited
But isn’t more knowledge, more study the answer! Memorize more verses, earn another bible degree!
Well, we do need knowledge, without knowledge people perish. But with the WRONG knowledge they are also doomed! And with FAITH in knowledge, or rather in themselves knowing things, they are also in trouble.
What’s more this knowledge is passing away (1 Cor 2:6). This knowledge will cease (1 Cor 13:8). God wants us to know his love BEYOND knowledge (Eph 3:19) and if any man thinks he knows something he does not know as he ought to know … but if anyone Loves God, God knows him! (1 Cor 8:1-3). God has even said this : “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and frustrate the intelligence of the intelligent.”
Knowledge is power but Faith in God is more power. And this is not just something I thought up! I was reading this passage one day when God spoke to me:
And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
And I asked, how can I “know something beyond knowledge”? What is “beyond knowledge?” He answered immediately, “Beyond knowledge … is Experience.”
Likewise, soon after, I was praying and felt a sudden urgency, a desperation for God to just show me His love. I felt such a pain I finally had to cry out in the frustration of longing, “Lord, just show me your love!”
Again, he answered immediately, “But you can’t understand it.”
Then I flipped out, yelling, “THEN WHY AM I ASKING FOR YOU TO SHOW IT TO ME THEN!!!”
And He said, “No, no,” calming me down, ”you can’t understand it … you have to EXPERIENCE it!”
Oh that is good! He is inviting us to EXPERIENCE his love. This may be why he contrasts these ideas in 1 Corinthians 8:1-3. We confuse acquiring Knowledge with Knowing God. Do we simply have faith in knowledge?
… “knowledge” puffs up, but love builds up. 2If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know. 3But if anyone loves God, he is known by God.
Then Jesus also told me this: “Doctrines don’t cause people to know me. You can know about me but not KNOW me. The Devil my enemy knows very much about me—his overthrow is inevitable—but he does not KNOW me. Just as Adam KNEW Eve and conceived a baby, I want my people—my bride—to KNOW me in the inner most chambers of their secret hearts.”
What are we building?
We were praying during a series of inner healing ministry sessions sometime in 2007 and I saw the Lord in the air over Jerusalem and it was in ruins. He said, “Our castle (Zion) is broken down.” He said, “Restore it, rebuild the wall, repair it.”
I asked Jesus how and He held out one dusty, broken brick and said, “One brick at a time.”
We have been given tools of restoration and healing, freedom and empowerment, and the objective is to see a nation rise up, as Isaiah saw, of restored people who will display God’s splendor in their personal lives, who will be known as priests, ministers and prophets, and everyone who sees them will admit they are the seed whom God has blessed. Or as Ezekiel saw in an army formed from dry bones once the Holy Spirit entered them. Or as Joel, David, Daniel, Moses saw… The Kingdom of God is made up of transformed people. That is what we are building.
1 Peter 2:5 “…you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath a temple of God with idols? for we are a temple of the living God; even as God said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Ephesians 2:19-22 19So then ye are no more strangers and sojourners, but ye are fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God, 20 being built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief corner stone; 21 in whom each several building, fitly framed together, groweth into a holy temple in the Lord; 22 in whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.
Or in another version: Eph 2: 22 Yes, in union with him, you yourselves are being built together into a spiritual dwelling-place for God!
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 19 Or know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own; 20 for ye were bought with a price: glorify God therefore in your body.
John 2:18-21 18The Jews therefore answered and said unto him, What sign showest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
20 The Jews therefore said, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days?
21 But he spake of the temple of his body.
How do we build it?
Ok, but then HOW do we build it? Habakkuk saw the Lord and exclaimed in 3:4:
“His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden.”
We are like our Dad! We TOO have power hidden in our hands. What is this power for? Well, that’s why we lay on hands to minister to people! To release God’s grace in its various forms for the common good! God tools are above the natural, human realm, and which give us results above those that any natural method can give.
2 Corinthians 10:3-6 3For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh 4(for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds), 5casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ; 6and being in readiness to avenge all disobedience, when your obedience shall be made full.
This is literally true, laying on hands can change people’s minds! We can communicate ideas to people without ever having to speak one word to them!
And this is from my journal … talking with Jesus in ‘communion’ fellowship, when Jesus healed me and taught me that human arguments have NO supernatural power, but His Spirit does! I repeat this lesson often because his words mean so much to me! So I realized we still need so much inner healing after getting Saved, and he said:
The Lord: Once you are born again many blocks need to be dealt with. The Promised Land has walled cities in the best locations. … It’s not a question of BLAME!
Me: I’m so sorry God, what has been wrong with me?!
The Lord: You had the wrong image of God in your heart. Your pain blinded you to my Love. That’s why arguing won’t help—it never does—because it does not deal with the reason why there is a block to seeing a particular truth.
Me: Can you give me an analogy?
The Lord: A light switch.
Me: A light switch???! Can you explain that?
The Lord: It turns on and off the light but it’s just a mechanical switch. It has nothing really to do with the electricity. If the light won’t work, if there’s a short circuit, a blown fuse, a burned out light bulb, or a broken wire, flicking the switch won’t help. Yes, if there is a problem with the switch being in the right position then flicking it back and forth can help, but trying to fix the fuse, circuit, bulb or wire by flicking the switch is pointless, meaningless, useless. Arguments align the mechanical switches in people’s minds, but if there is a block in the heart, arguments do no good. People argue when they are only focused on what they can see and do themselves. It’s not argument that opens the blockages, but prayer, love and compassion.
The HIGHER Thoughts and HIGHER Ways of God
Now consider, what God told Isaiah in chapter 55:
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,” says Adonai.
9 “As high as the sky is above the earth are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
But this puts the bar very high! So high a natural person cannot reach it! … Exactly God’s plan!
I saw a vision of great books in a stack one time. They looked old and important and God told me these were false doctrines of men within the modern church that have taken on a iconic status to many, ideas that are worshiped and exalted as pillars of Christian theology, yet were all false doctrines; books that never should have been written Jesus said.
Two people can read the same passage from the Bible and come to opposite views, if one is using Man’s mind to process it and the other is yielded to the Spirit. They both may wear the same suit, have the same aftershave and the same warm, friendly smile. But one is a deceiver. How can you tell the difference? Only the SPIRIT can tell.
So how many of these false ideas do you teach? You won’t know until the Holy Spirit shows you … So if you are without the Spirit of TRUTH telling you, giving you discernment, and warning, YOU WILL BE DECEIVED.
Teach Revelation
This is why the personal advice Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 1 and especially 2 about how to minister is so important. Le’s read again what Paul wrote, emphasis on teaching revelation:
2As for me, brothers, when I arrived among you, it was not with surpassing eloquence or wisdom that I came announcing to you the previously concealed truth about God; 2for I had decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Yeshua the Messiah, and even him only as someone who had been executed on a stake as a criminal. 3Also I myself was with you as somebody weak, nervous and shaking all over from fear; 4and neither the delivery nor the content of my message relied on compelling words of “wisdom” but on a demonstration of the power of the Spirit, 5 so that your trust might not rest on human wisdom but on God’s power.
6 Yet there is a wisdom that we are speaking to those who are mature enough for it. But it is not the wisdom of this world or of this world’s leaders, who are in the process of passing away. 7 On the contrary, we are communicating a secret wisdom from God which has been hidden until now but which, before history began, God had decreed would bring us glory. 8 Not one of this world’s leaders has understood it; because if they had, they would not have executed the Lord from whom this glory flows. 9 But, as the Tanakh says,
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard
and no one’s heart has imagined
all the things that God has prepared
for those who love him.”[a]
10 It is to us, however, that God has revealed these things. How? Through the Spirit. For the Spirit probes all things, even the profoundest depths of God. 11 For who knows the inner workings of a person except the person’s own spirit inside him? So too no one knows the inner workings of God except God’s Spirit. 12 Now we have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit of God, so that we might understand the things God has so freely given us. 13 These are the things we are talking about when we avoid the manner of speaking that human wisdom would dictate and instead use a manner of speaking taught by the Spirit, by which we explain things of the Spirit to people who have the Spirit. 14 Now the natural man does not receive the things from the Spirit of God — to him they are nonsense! Moreover, he is unable to grasp them, because they are evaluated through the Spirit. 15 But the person who has the Spirit can evaluate everything, while no one is in a position to evaluate him.
16 For who has known the mind of Adonai?
Who will counsel him?
But we have the mind of the Messiah!
KEY IDEAS: We must be Taught by God
Now hone in on this idea: We have received the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13THIS IS WHAT WE SPEAK …
This means we MUST SPEAK what JESUS TEACHES us personally. This is best practice! Jesus said so!
Matthew 10:27, “What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs.”
The Holy Spirit has already been given to us, we have no more excuse to teach the fallen ideas from the mind of man!
1 John 2:27, “As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.”
And there was a promise in Isaiah 54:13 that was repeated by Jesus. Do you think this promise was revoked? Do you think it expired? I don’t think so!
John 6:45, “It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’”
Also don’t forget: 1 Thessalonians 4:9, “Now about brotherly love we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other.”
But most clearly John 14: 15“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. 18“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
… 21Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” … 23Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. … 26But the Helper [Counselor, paraclete], the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
Can we really be taught by the Holy Spirit? Well if not, then you should protect yourself from judgment and NOT TEACH. We who teach WILL BE JUDGED MORE HARSHLY—we are already accountable! Do you want to face this judgment without help from the Teacher himself telling you want to teach? It would be unwise to do so! No one can GUESS his thoughts, his ideas or his interpretation of Scripture. Thankfully we don’t have to. We can ask him and he will openly tell us.
IF NOT … then what are YOU building?
If you DO NOT do this you will regret it!
This is the only way you can build Jesus’ Kingdom in people’s hearts.
If you minister in a way to promote MAN’S IDEAS, and NOT in a demonstration of the Spirit and NOT TEACHING REVELATION then you will as Paul said create people who have FAITH in MAN’S WISDOM (1 Cor 2:5) … this faith cannot save them. What then are you building? What kind of people are you developing? Goats, Pharisees, Un-Wise Virgins! YOU did this! You did it YOUR way! Man’s ways, get Man’s results. Jesus even told me, Man’s ways DO NOT produce God’s blessings.
So we are BUILDING PEOPLE INTO RESTORED LIVING STONES, knitted together to be the living temple of God. This is the Gospel of the Kingdom and this requires the POWER of God to heal, set free, transform … it requires training and teaching according to Divine Instructions, Divine Wisdom! God’s IDEAS and God’s WAYS!
If you do not minister the way the Holy Spirit taught Paul to minister and how God explained to us to do in the bible right here, you will not be able to create a community of spotless brides-to-be, an Army of overcoming Christ-like wise virgins. You will just make a mess. Just DON’T DO IT!
So let this be our standard, that we do not teach ANYTHING unless we have had the Holy Spirit personally verify it to us. Maybe that’s going too far? I don’t think so.
So many pet ideas, common doctrines and slick one-liners we quote in Church are just not from God. They sound good, they sound biblical even, but so often I’ve heard God discount them.
So let’s raise our standard so that we can build Gods Kingdom in the WAY God wants us to, so we can be effective, and be rewarded for our labors. We all have endured labors and hardships, it would be a shame after all these struggles for God not to reward us for them—it would all be for nothing.
We MUST be mindful as God taught Paul to Demonstrate the Spirit’s Power and Teach Revelation!
